Dear Lord, the fear and devastation of HIV/AIDS has caused over 3 decades of confusion, accusations, stigma, discrimination and disturbance in our human family. But through your love, mercy, and grace, there is good news . . . in the midst of trials and tribulations. We are working more together towards eliminating new HIV infections among our children and keeping our mothers alive. While only 3 in10 eligible children receive HIV treatment in most countries, today more women have access to antiretroviral medicines to reduce the risk of HIV to their children than ever before. We are thankful that infections among children have been reduced by 50% or more in 7 countries (Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe), and 2 countries (Tanzania and Zimbabwe) are very close to this goal. Even children who are positive have a greater hope in a more caring world of your love. May HIV transmission rates to children continue to globally fall!

We praise you that 4 countries (Botswana, Ghana, Namibia, and Zambia) have already met their goal of providing antiretroviral medicines to 90% of eligible women to prevent transmission of HIV from mother-to-child. Help us, God, in outreach around the globe.

Thank you, Lord God, for the guidelines and recommendations by the global health organizations, for women and children, aimed at simplifying access to and delivery of HIV prevention and treatment services, to help improve our mothers' health and prevent death.

Praises to your name for the 2013 United States National HIV Prevention Progress Report of a 15% decrease in new HIV infections among heterosexuals and 21% decrease among African American women between 2008 - 2010 in the United States. And we rejoice in the report of a 9% decreased HIV transmission rate in the U. S. from 2006 - 2010.

Lord, thank you for the caregivers who labor so faithfully among us to demonstrate your love to your people daily! Continue to strengthen and keep them in your own Holy way!

O God, we rejoice that infection rates are decreasing, programs are going forward, stigma is being addressed, more households of faith are speaking up, and your love is moving in more of our hearts. We are thankful for the nations, states, communities, and those called by your name, that have united to help reduce and eliminate HIV/AIDS from our land. Much more remains to be done. But you have moved amongst us! Continue to grant us more knowledge, wisdom, creativity, perseverance, and courage in searching for a cure.

Dear God, restore your creation, give hope to your people, and comfort us in this pandemic. May we all do our part, in your mercy, grace, and lovingkindness, as we rally each other and the world to acts of love, compassion, sacrifice, and justice for all! Amen!
